Skidata Acquires Sentry Control Systems in Van Nuys

Sentry Control Systems has been acquired by Skidata, creating the largest provider of parking access and revenue control equipment in the United States. In addition to Sentry Control in Van Nuys, Skidata also bought Harstad Controls in Minneapolis; and Protection Technologies, with locations in Seattle, Salt Lake City, and Denver. Skidata is headquartered in New Brunswick, N.J. Chris McKenty, head of sales in the west for Skidata, said the company has handled more than 1,100 installations of parking equipment in the past 20 years. “Our ongoing growth assures that we will continue to offer the most advanced and user-friendly equipment throughout the United States,” he said in a statement. With these acquisitions, Skidata now employs more than 250 parking technologists in 10 regional offices, including one in Van Nuys.
