SeaPort Airlines Inc. has stopped service from Burbank Bob Hope Airport, it was announced on Friday. The Portland, Ore.-based commuter airline said in a brief statement on its website that a pilot shortage was behind permanent cancellation of service to Bob Hope and eight other airports in California, Kansas, Missouri and Mexico. SeaPort began service from the Burbank airfield in 2013 with roundtrip flights to and from Imperial County Airport in El Centro. Flights were later added to San Diego International Airport and Visalia Municipal Airport. SeaPort used nine-passenger seat Cessna 208 Caravan turboprop aircraft on its Burbank service.
