Universal Studios Inc. is inviting guests to enjoy its billion-dollar renovations to the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park in Universal City with a new “California Neighbor Pass,” the company announced Monday. The nine-month pass costs $119 and gives Californians access to the park on 215 select days, including 54 weekend days. Though it doesn’t provide admission to Universal’s “Halloween Horror Nights” or CityWalk locations, the pass does grant discounts on general admission tickets to these attractions for the holder as well as friends and family. It can be purchased online at the park’s website. The release of the California Neighbor Pass comes on the heels of rival Walt Disney Co.’s re-launch of its “Southern California Annual Passport,” which grants locals access to its Disneyland theme parks on 227 select days during the year for $459, according to the company’s website. It can be purchased now at the park’s front gate and will be available online later this year.
