A subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc. has acquired an electronics test and measurement instrumentation business, it was announced Thursday. Terms of the deal between Teledyne LeCroy, in Chestnut Ridge, N.Y., and Frontline Test Equipment, in Charlottesville, Va., were not disclosed. Teledyne LeCroy is owned by Teledyne Technologies, in Thousand Oaks. Frontline makes equipment that intercepts, logs traffic and analyzes data that passes over digital wireless networks. Customers are in the consumer electronics, semiconductor, telecommunications and automotive industries. Teledyne Chief Executive Robert Mehrabian called Frontline a market leader in test tools used on computer communications devices. “The Frontline acquisition now expands our protocol test portfolio into important wireless technologies like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi,” Mehrabian said in a prepared statement. Shares closed down 28 cents, or a fraction of one percent, to $87.13 on the New York Stock Exchange.
