Semtech Corp. has provided its LoRa Edge asset management technology to Digital Matter for use in the company’s tracking device for indoor and outdoor assets.The Camarillo semiconductor developer’s LoRa Edge product reduces the cost and complexity asset tracking. Digital Matter, with U.S. offices in Atlanta, designs and manufactures a range of battery-powered and wired GPS and IoT devices for tractor-trailers, shipping containers, construction equipment, vehicles and pallets.Sree Durbha, director of product management in Semtech’s wireless and sensing products group, said that LoRa Edge simplifies and accelerates the development of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.“Digital Matter’s new solution will help customers deploy ultra-low power and cost-effective solutions in a variety of industry verticals and should dramatically increase the rate of adoption of LoRa in the IoT ecosystem,” Durbha said in a statement.Shares of Semtech (SMTC) closed up $2.80, or more than 3 percent, to $80.12 on the Nasdaq, on a day when that market closed up 1.5 percent.
