LegalZoom Inc. has appointed Elizabeth Hamren, Microsoft Corp.’s corporate vice president for gaming experiences and platforms, to its board of directors.Hamren represents the second new independent director for the online legal technology company in Glendale since June, when it went public.For the last three years, Hamren has led product and engineering for Xbox consumer products and services such as the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, Xbox hardware and platform software and PC experiences. She previously headed marketing and business for Microsoft devices.“She has first-hand experience launching and scaling some of the most popular consumer technology and subscription-based services in the world. I’m excited to work with her as we continue our growth and fulfill our mission to democratize law,” LegalZoom Chief Executive Dan Wernikoff said in a statement.Prior to Microsoft, Hamren has held marketing leadership positions at tech companies such as Facebook, Dropcam, Plantronics and Jawbone.“I’m inspired by LegalZoom’s mission to make legal services more affordable and accessible to entrepreneurs and individuals who want legal protections for themselves and their families,” said Hamren in a statement.Shares of LegalZoom (LZ) closed Tuesday up 13 cents, or a fraction of a percent, to $37.56 on the Nasdaq, on a day that market closed up a fraction of a percent.
