Gannett Co. Inc. has acquired Canadian online marketing firm SweetIQ Analytics Corp. and will make it part of its ReachLocal business in the San Fernando Valley. Terms of the deal between Gannett, in McLean, Va., and SweetIQ, in Montreal, were not disclosed. The acquisition will speed up the ability of ReachLocal to help businesses measure results of their digital marketing investments. SweetIQ develops software that enable businesses to manage their location data and measure consumer engagement. ReachLocal, in Woodland Hills, helps small and medium-sized businesses buy advertisements on the Internet. It was acquired last year for $156 million by Gannett, the publisher of USA Today and more than 100 other daily newspapers. “This acquisition adds strong product offerings in local listings and reputation management to our suite of digital marketing solutions and strengthens our value proposition with multi-location and national brands,” ReachLocal Chief Executive Sharon Rowlands said in a prepared statement.
