Interlink Expands in Singapore

Interlink Electronics Inc. is expanding its research and development center in Singapore by adding 10 scientists and engineers and pledging to invest $3.5 million in a state-of-the-art facility. The Westlake Village sensor technology manufacturer will make the global center a place to support partnerships with electronics manufacturing services, digital manufacturing including 3D printing and product development. Chief Executive Steve Bronson said the expansion is a way for Interlink to increase its international footprint and to leverage Singapore’s human capital and ecosystem in science and engineering. “We will continue in our relentless pursuit of leading edge (human-machine interface) technology platforms and products to address key market opportunities in emerging sectors including Internet of Things, automotive electronics, wearables and robotics,” Bronson said in a prepared statement. Interlink makes touchpads and computer mouse products for rugged environments such as oil refineries, automobile assembly lines and machine shops. It also serves the medical device market. Shares closed flat at $8 on the Nasdaq.
