ECS, a segment of Calabasas-based Asgn Inc. that focuses on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and engineering, has won a four-year, $116 million contract with the federal government to modernize the military’s digital health care system. The company on Thursday announced it was selected by the Naval Information Warfare Center Defense Health Information Technology Division to modernize health system infrastructure for more than 9.4 million active duty personnel, retirees and military families. One of ECS’ main initiatives will be to consolidate IT infrastructure while also addressing privacy and cybersecurity concerns, the company said in a statement. Services will include technical planning; system design, build and integration; testing, producing and deploying the new integrated health system; and ensuring longevity and efficiency. “We are honored to lead the implementation of the (Desktop to Datacenter), which will support U.S. military members and their dependents worldwide,” Jim Kier, senior vice president for cyber solutions and digital modernization at ECS, said in a statement. “ECS has been integral in the design, development and fielding of (Defense Health Agency)’s Desktop to Datacenter transformation initiatives. We are proud to support this next phase of modernization for military health care.” Asgn is a provider of IT and professional services in the technology, creative, digital, engineering and life sciences fields for commercial and government sectors. Shares of Asgn closed Thursday down 9 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $67.22 on the New York Stock Exchange.
