BlackLine Enters Japan Via Joint Venture

Accounting software developer BlackLine Inc. has created a joint venture to sells its accounting and financial software in Japan. The Woodland Hills company entered into the joint venture with Japan Cloud to start BlackLine K.K. Japan Cloud works with U.S. businesses to establish themselves in the Japanese market. BlackLine Chief Executive Therese Tucker said that Japan Cloud’s track record of growing enterprise software-as-a-service businesses in Japan will help BlackLine establish a strong market presence. “We see significant opportunity to help companies based in Japan with their finance transformation journeys and believe now is the time to expand in the region,” Tucker said in a statement. Shares of BlackLine (BL) closed down $2.12, or more than 4 percent, to $46.12 on the Nasdaq.
