Senator, California State Senate
Allen represents the 24th Senate District, which includes Agoura Hills, Calabasas and Westlake Village, in addition to areas of L.A.’s Westside and South Bay. An attorney and former Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District board member, Allen has authored approximately 60 laws in the areas of economic development, educational equity, health, environmental protection, climate change, green transit, government transparency and electoral reform. Most recently, he’s been fighting for state funding to assist in acquisition and conservation of publicly accessible parkland in Calabasas. Allen chairs the Senate Environmental Quality Committee and serves as vice chair of the Legislature’s Joint Committee on the Arts.
