On Assignment Names President in Succession Plan

On Assignment Inc. has promoted Ted Hanson to the position of president, the company announced on Tuesday. Hanson was formerly an executive vice president at the Calabasas staffing company. The company said the promotion was part of “an established executive development and succession planning program.” In his new position, Hanson will oversee business operations and company culture. He will report to Peter Dameris, On Assignment’s chief executive. “I am excited by the opportunity given to me … at a time when so many exciting and innovative things are happening at On Assignment,” Hanson said in a prepared statement. “I believe that we are strongly positioned going into 2017 to have a very successful year.” Hanson joined On Assignment as chief financial officer of Apex Systems when it was acquired by On Assignment in 2012. He was named executive vice president last January, two years after being promoted to president of lab support in 2014. Shares of On Assignment (ASGN) rose 46 cents, or 1 percent, to close at $44.62 on the New York Stock Exchange.
