Ronald Brot, founder and senior partner of family law firm Brot Gross & Fishbein LLP in Sherman Oaks, has been appointed president of the Los Angeles County Bar Association for the 2019-2020 term. He is the first attorney from the San Fernando Valley selected for the position. Brot was sworn in during the LACBA Installation & Awards Reception at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel downtown on June 27. As president, he will oversee LACBA’s board of trustees and executive committee and is responsible for managing the organization’s operations including all legal services and pro bono projects. “(LACBA) will seek sustainable, long-term growth by increasing membership among lawyers and firms of all sizes across L.A. County, while ensuring that every lawyer and practice area are heard, accommodated and get the best of what our organization has to offer,” said Brot in a statement. Brot has practiced family law for more than 35 years. He first joined LACBA in 1972, and went on to chair LACBA’s Trial Lawyers Section, Commercial Law & Bankruptcy Section, Family Law Section and the Conference of Delegates Executive Committee. He has also served as a member of the organization’s board of trustees. LACBA is one of the largest bar associations in the country, with more than 15,000 members.
