Macy’s, Inc. is slated to close its North Hollywood location at Laurel Plaza this fall, the store has announced. The building the store occupies will be converted into commercial office space as part of the proposed NoHo West mixed-use complex, pending city approval. Macy’s is the only remaining retailer in the shopping center at Laurel Plaza, a 25-acre property purchased in 2014 by Merlone Geier Partners. The store’s 193 employees will either be moved to other locations or offered severance benefits when a final clearance sale ends between late September and early October, according to the company. Shares of Macy’s, Inc. gained 42 cents on Friday, or just over 1 percent, to close at $34.11.
