IHOP Launches First Food Truck

IHOP Restaurants has launched a cross-platform marketing campaign – complete with the company’s first food truck – to advertise its new French toasted donuts. The national breakfast chain, a subsidiary of DineEquity Inc. in Glendale, announced Monday that it will wheel out its first truck on Aug. 4 in New York City, where it will offer free samples of the donuts between 8 a.m. and noon. The event will be broadcast on IHOP’s Instagram and Snapchat profiles, the company said. Traditional advertising channels, including a television commercial, will help promote sales of the donut, which are available at IHOP restaurants starting today through Sept. 24. The item comes in three flavors: bacon and maple, strawberries and cream and apple fritter. DineEquity stock on Monday rose 19 cents, or less than 1 percent, to close at $41.15 on the New York Stock Exchange.
