Cheesecake Opens First Restaurant in Canada

Cheesecake Factory opened a restaurant outside Toronto, the Calabasas company’s first outlet in Canada, the company announced Tuesday. The restaurant at the 3401 Dufferin St. in North York, Ontario features imported limestone floors, custom mosaic tile columns and hand painted murals. The company has 197 restaurants under the Cheesecake brand. “The Cheesecake Factory’s opening provides exciting new choices for shoppers and area residents,” the company said in a statement. Shares of Cheesecake (CAKE) closed Wednesday down 29 cents, or less than a percent, to $44.92 on the Nasdaq.
