Cherokee Signs Up Licensees

Cherokee Global Brands has inked deals with new licensees to get its Cherokee brand on the shelves of U.S. retailers. The Sherman Oaks fashion licensing company announced last week that it has signed multi-category license agreements with four specialized industry leaders. One is SaraMax Apparel Group Inc., a manufacturer of men and women’s intimate apparel and loungewear in Linden, New Jersey. The company’s products are in such mass retailers as Wal-Mart, Target and Dick’s Sporting Goods stores. Other licensees: New York-based Cudlie Accessories, a manufacturer of infant and children’s diaper bags and feeding and grooming accessories; Eastman Footwear Group in New York, which designs and distributes men’s athletic and casual footwear; and High Point Design, a manufacturer that specializes in hosiery products such as socks, leggings and legwarmers. Each apparel company will distribute Cherokee branded products to U.S. specialty and mass retailers. “As we continue to build our domestic licensee base, we have identified and have begun to onboard new retail partners that will ensure the continued availability of an expanded assortment of Cherokee-branded products for spring 2017,” Chief Executive Henry Stupp said in a statement. Cherokee shares on Monday closed up 21 cents, or nearly 1.5 percent, to $14.67.
