California State University – Northridge has cancelled all classes and campus activities for Friday, Saturday and Sunday due to the Saddleridge Fire. Housing and residential dining for students will remain open and staffed, CSUN said in a statement. The school plans to provide an update at 3 p.m. on Sunday. “Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by the Saddleridge Fire, which continues to burn in multiple communities in the north San Fernando Valley,” CSUN said in a statement. Employees with Physical Plant Management and other essential personnel are asked to report to the campus; Physical Plant has modified campus air conditioning systems to recirculate indoor air and diminish smoke, according to CSUN. Other employees scheduled to work Saturday and Sunday were granted administrative leave.
