PHILANTHROPY GUIDE

CLICK HERE to download and view the Philanthropy Guide (pdf) Letter from the Publisher Dear Readers: It’s no secret that the greater San Fernando Valley region is home to generous individuals who make a commitment, everyday, to local not for profit organizations and the clients they serve. This commitment can be seen in many ways – providing much needed financial support, attending charitable special events and volunteering critical time and effort. When our communities are healthy, everyone benefits. When we think about business, we usually think about corporations, small business and entrepreneurial organizations. What’s not always obvious is the fact that not for profit organizations have many similar attributes as business. Not for profit organizations hire employees, purchase goods and services, utilize resources and serve clients. Truly, not for profit organizations are economic engines in the region in much the same manner as business and industry. At the San Fernando Valley Business Journal, we’re proud to present you with this directory of local community and educational organizations who serve all of us. In the current economy, these organizations need our support now more than ever and we hope you’ll turn to this directory to identify opportunities for your own community involvement. As you can imagine, compiling the directory listing was not an easy task. I would like to recognize the following San Fernando Valley Business Journal employees for their hard work and dedication to this project – Brian DeWolf, Feather Ives and Jason Schaff. These employees developed a directory which we hope will be meaningful and useful to community and business leaders. Thank you to the generous companies and organizations who made this directory possible – Danone Simpson Insurance Services, King, King, Alleman & Jensen, Providence Health & Services Foundation, Valley Presbyterian Hospital Foundation and Valley Village. We also thank the many companies and organizations who supported the directory and are listed inside. We hope the information in this directory inspires you as individuals and as business executives – to make a difference by helping our community grow and thrive.
