On Friday afternoon the Antelope and Santa Clarita valleys were still dealing with the latest brush fire that started in Agua Dulce, named the Tick Fire, which began around 2 p.m. Thursday, according to the City of Santa Clarita. The 14 freeway remained closed in both directions from Golden Valley to Escondido Canyon, and roughly 4,300 acres have been burned by the fire; containment is at 5 percent. Among closures in the area, Kaiser Permanente announced that its Canyon Country Medical Offices, located at 26415 Carl Boyer Drive in Santa Clarita, closed Friday. Patients with appointments at the office were called and offered care at neighboring offices. Santa Clarita Medical Offices at 27107 Tourney Road remained open, except for optometry services, Kaiser said. “Physicians and employees have been deployed to keep all our other facilities open and available to our patients,” the health care provider said in a statement.
