Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor was not open during the day on Friday due to the 5 freeway being closed from the Saddleridge Fire. Sue Carpenter, a spokeswoman for the theme and water park in Santa Clarita, said that there were no air quality issues behind the closure, just the inability for people to access the park via the freeway. “It’s a bright blue sky and the winds are blowing (the smoke) away from us,” Carpenter said. The park might open at 5 p.m., Carpenter added. “We are asking people to follow us on Twitter as we basically will be getting (information) out there,” she said. According to the California Transportation Department, the northbound 5 was closed at the 118 freeway. The southbound 5 freeway was closed at Calgrove Boulevard but reopened Friday afternoon.
