Real estate brokerage CBRE Group has closed two leases at Conejo Corporate Campus in Thousand Oaks totaling nearly 100,000 square feet. Both tenants are no strangers to the region. Academic journal publisher Sage Publishing and biotech company Atara Biotherapeutics are longtime Conejo-based companies. Atara will occupy the entire second floor at 2380 Conejo Spectrum St. while Sage will occupy the ground floor of the recently renovated, nearly 100,000-square-foot office building. Since former tenant Amgen Inc. moved out of the office park in 2009, Harbor Associates, which purchased the property last February, has converted the single-occupant space into a multitenant facility. Michael Slater, Andres Uribe and Caroline Bigelow of CBRE represented landlord Harbor Associates in the transactions. CBRE’s Tom Dwyer represented Sage, while Newmark Knight Frank brokered on behalf of Atara. “Given the newly constructed industrial park across the street, this is a strategic move for Atara,” Slater said in a statement. “It is also a great location for Sage’s expansion as their existing headquarters are next door. With very little vacancy and limited availability in the Conejo Valley market, this reimagined office campus presented a unique opportunity for these two companies.” Sage’s expansion at the property is part of the company’s long-term strategy while Atara assumed the new location to provide additional office space adjacent to their existing T-Cell operations and manufacturing facility.
