Rapper Opens Marijuana Dispensary in Sylmar

Hip hop artist B-Real of the group Cypress Hill opened a marijuana dispensary Wednesday in Sylmar. B-Real, whose real name is Louis Mario Freese, named the shop Dr. Greenthumb’s after a popular Cypress Hill song. “We have a lot of history behind us as it relates to music and the pro-legalization movement,” Freese said in a statement. “It’s a blessing to put down roots of our first storefront in our backyard and serving our community with a premium cannabis experience.” The dispensary, located at 12751 Foothill Blvd., is licensed to sell both recreational and medical marijuana, according to the Los Angeles Department of Cannabis Regulation.
