Sylmar construction contractor Tutor Perini Corp. announced its Redwood City building subsidiary, Rudolph and Sletten Inc., has won a combined $490 million in upcoming projects. Projects include a San Diego shopping center parking structure; a $78 million outpatient services pavilion at UC San Diego; a seven-story medical facility and four-level parking structure in the Bay area; an 80,000-square-foot laboratory and office building at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory; a two-story, $60 million math, science and engineering building for Southwestern College in Chula Vista; and a biotechnology and science laboratory and office building at Solano Community College’s Vacaville campus. Tutor is partnering with SmithGroupJJR on that project. Several projects are already underway, according to Tutor. Tutor also announced its Tutor Perini Building Corp. subsidiary has won the bid to build the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.’s hotel complex in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., known as the Tribute Portfolio Hotel and Element by Westin Hotel. Tutor was awarded the bid by Philadelphia hotel developer Wurzak Hotel Group and its investment and development platform, DoveHill. The contract value for the hotel project is scheduled to be reported in Tutor’s first-quarter earnings, the company said. Shares closed down 32 cents or 2.7 percent to $11.55 on the New York Stock Exchange.
