Casino gold is spreading to a local construction contractor. Sylmar’s Tutor Perini Corp. said its subsidiary Tutor Perini Building Corp. has been awarded a $285 million contract to build an expansion onto the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula. The Pechanga Development Corp. plans to add a new 568-room hotel wing, a separate spa and salon, fitness center, pool complex, two restaurants and 67,000 square feet for events. Work is underway on the expansion and Tutor said it expects most of the project to be completed by the end of 2017. Tutor was the general contractor for the original casino when the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians opened it in 2002. The company said it has been building elements of the resort in phases since then. Shares closed Thursday at $13.21, up 31 cents of 2.4 percent on the New York Stock Exchange.
