Tutor Perini Wins $107 Million Contract for Housing Project in Guam

Tutor Perini Corp. in Sylmar has won a nearly $107 million contract to build bachelor officer quarters at Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz on Guam.

The contract was awarded to a joint venture between Tutor Perini and Black Construction, a subsidiary of Tutor Perini working as a general contractor in the Western Pacific.

Although the contract came from the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command’s Pacific Division, it “is funded by the government of Japan as part of the international agreement between the United States and Japan for the relocation of military personnel from Okinawa to Guam,” according to the company.

The project includes a multi-story housing tower with an attached one-story common area. The single-occupancy housing units will feature a living room, bedroom, closet, private bath, kitchen and laundry.

Engineering work has already started with a completion date in December 2024.

Shares of Tutor Perini (TPC) closed Friday down 4 cents, or a fraction of a percent, to $10.05 on the New York Stock Exchange, while the Dow closed up a fraction of a percent.
