A week after Public Storage closed more than 100 facilities in the Houston area due to Hurricane Harvey, the company announced it has re-opened them. The Glendale company, which owns, buys, manages and develops self-storage facilities, has re-opened its 115 sites – a total of more than 8 million square feet and 77,500 units. The company closed them last week in the affected area to keep its customers and employees safe. Customers wanting to speak to a Public Storage team member can still call the dedicated hotline, the company said. The real estate investment trust also said it opened a new 2,064-unit three-story location at US-290 and Mueschke Road in Cypress, Texas, bringing its total of Houston area facilities to 116. The climate-controlled storage facility has 194,000 net rentable square feet. Shares of Public Storage (PSA) closed Tuesday up 78 cents, or a fraction of 1 percent, to $206.66 on the New York Stock Exchange.
