Home Depot wants to build a 106,000-square-foot store plus a 28,000-square-foot garden center in Granada Hills. The project has received pushback, however, from the community.
Plans call for Home Depot to raze a shuttered Regency Theaters location at 16830 Devonshire St. as well as about a dozen smaller adjacent retail spaces. The home improvement company purchased the property last year for $37 million.
The new store would be roughly 30% larger than the average Home Depot store, not including the garden center. According to the company’s website, the average store spans 105,000 square feet.
Neighbors are upset, arguing that the plan is moving forward without adequate input from the community.
