The U.S. arm of London-based entertainment giant FremantleMedia has signed a long-term lease at a new studio space that will be built in Atwater Village.The production company behind “American Idol,” “America’s Got Talent” and “Family Feud” has committed to a 12-year lease for a 43,000-square-foot complex at Captiva Partners’ Reframe Studios at 4561 Colorado Blvd. CBRE Group, which brokered the deal, made the announcement.The current headquarters of FremantleMedia, which also produces game shows “The Price is Right” and “Family Feud,” has been in Burbank across from Walt Disney Co. at 2900 W. Alameda Ave. The contest and game show creator also has offices in New York City and Miami.In August last year, Captiva Partners purchased the Atwater Village industrial site, which has a pair of warehouses, through a partnership with Avalon Investment and Westbrook Partners for $38 million.
Carlos Carrasquillo at Wolcott Architecture designed the 7.3-acre project, adjacent to Quixote Studios and near to Walt Disney Co. in Burbank, Warner Bros. also in Burbank and NBCUniversal in Universal City.CBRE’s Doug Marlow and Juliana Sampson represented the landlord, Captiva Partners. According to CBRE, in the past four years, media and streaming firms have leased roughly 6.8 million square feet of office space in the greater Los Angeles region.
