AAA Recognizes Local Resort as a Four ‘Diamond’ Property

The Westlake Village Inn recently got some sparkling praise from the AAA travel organization. The hotel snagged AAA’s Four Diamond Property Award, an honor shared by less than three percent of the 58,000 lodging establishments approved by the company. Shelby McKenna, marketing coordinator for the Westlake Village Inn, said the award criteria is extensive, ranging from the manner in which people are greeted on the phone to the accessibility of the establishment’s Web site. Although the resort is more of a boutique establishment, McKenna said the award places it “in the realm” of the bigger hotels. “It’s a huge deal,” McKenna said. The Inn is owned by developer and international financier John L. Notter. Its features include 141 guest rooms and suites, 10 tennis courts and a nightclub. “It’s wonderful to be in a position to offer a superior guest experience and pass along added value to all of our loyal patrons,” Notter said, in a company statement. “AAA has been the hospitality benchmark for many generations. We are thrilled to be acknowledged as one of their elite!” — Angela Melero
