Valley Industry Association Announces Award Nominees

The Valley Industry Association on Thursday announced nominees for awards that will be presented at the VIA Black and White Bash on Oct. 19 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia. Nominees for the Connie Worden-Roberts Volunteer of the Year award are: Ed Masterson, SOS Entertainment; Mariella Masuda, Hyatt Regency Valencia; Fabienne McGeever, Simpatico Systems; Kim Thomson, SCV Relocation Services; Sue Tweddell, Primerica; and Steve Youlios, Jersey Mike’s. The winner of the Connie Worden-Roberts award must be affiliated with VIA for a minimum of two years and be involved through various committees, chairmanships, member recruitment or fundraising. VIA’s Rising Star award recognizes a member who has been with the organization for at least a year and shows promising business growth. Nominees for this award include: KKAJ Certified Public Accountants; SCV Senior Center’s Bella Vida facility; and Jeff and Melanie Meyer at Thrivent Financial. Member businesses nominated for the VIA Business of the Year award are: Nola Aronson’s Advanced Audiology, Hyatt Regency Valencia, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Mission Valley Bank and The Signal newspaper, a subsidiary of Signal Multimedia. The fourth award will be given to a school within the William S. Hart Union High School District for its participation in the VIA’s Connecting to Success program, a half-day conference offering workplace skills to students.
