San Fernando Valley resident and public relations veteran Marty Cooper is the new chairman of the board at the UCLA Film & Television Archive. Cooper, founder of Cooper Communications in Encino, will head the board working with archive staff on promoting the archive in the community and exploring means of expanding its financial stability. Serving along with Cooper, whose marketing and communication firm has been in the Valley since 1982, are Bronni Stein, vice chair; and members Joey Berlin, Monica Bouldin, Charles Burnett, Barbara Roisman-Cooper, Myron Meisel, Glenn Padnick, John Ptak and Robert Rosen. “We look to the impressive group of individuals who comprise our board to help heighten awareness of the Archive and its activities; to broaden appreciation of it among various publics; to provide input and an external viewpoint to our staff team; and to play an important role in our continuing need to acquire funding for the archive and its projects,” Archive Director Jan-Christopher Horak said in a statement. Cooper has taught marketing, strategic planning, and crisis management at UCLA Extension for more than 30 years.
