The California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks has elected two high-profile businesspeople to its board of directors. Gerhard Apfelthaler and Glenn Fuller will each serve three-year terms on the 10-member board. Apfelthaler is dean of California Lutheran University’s school of management and a professor of international business. He is known locally for founding the Cal Lutheran’s Hub 101 incubator for early-stage startups in Westlake Village, as well as several companies including Oak Therapeutics and Cure Pharmaceutical in Oxnard and Dream School Academy in Westlake Village. “The museum plays a vital role in our community and I am eager to join my fellow board members in their efforts to expand CMATO’s positive impact on our region and beyond,” Apfelthaler said in a statement. Fuller is a principal at Glenn Fuller Real Estate. He specializes in real estate finance, construction, tax and venture capital law but also has experience in hotel and resort financing and equity deals. “We are delighted to expand our board and to welcome Gerhard and Glenn to our governing body,” said CMATO Board President Len Linton in a statement. “Their wealth of expertise and accomplishment helps ensure that our unique and important institution will continue to thrive well into the future.” The museum was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Annenberg Foundation in Los Angeles in recognition of the museum’s best practices in board governance, diversity, staff development and financial sustainability.
