Big Checks, Award Winners Announced at Valley Economic Alliance Gala

At the Valley Economic Alliance’s Valley of the Stars Awards Gala on Friday, U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman handed out check and the organization recognized local leaders.

Sherman, who represented a Valley district, gave $2 million to Hope of the Valley Chief Executive Ken Craft, who won the 2022 Star of the Valley Humanitarian Award from the alliance.

Other honorees included former NFL Running Back Erick Dickerson, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt and Christy Vega, the owner of Casa Vega, a storied Mexican restaurant in Sherman Oaks. The San Fernando Valley Business Journal was one of the gala’s media sponsors.

Rep. Sherman also gave a check to Valley Economic Alliance for $138,000.

The gala’s master of ceremonies was actor and Director Jerry O’Connell, Co-Host of The Talk, a daytime talk show on CBS. The event was held at The Castaway restaurant in Burbank.
