BizFed Institute Names New President

Kevin Harbour has been named as the new president of BizFed Institute, the nonprofit educational arm of the Los Angeles County Federation of Business, or BizFed, in Commerce. Harbour starts the position on Oct. 1. He replaces Bill Clark, who moved back into global anti-slavery work last month. “We were blessed to have found a dynamic doer who is already connected to our (institute) mission and goals and service,” BizFed founder and Chief Executive Tracy Hernandez said in a statement The BizFed Institute “educates, engages, equips and measures consensus solutions from civically minded nonprofit, academic and regional thought leaders for the purpose of building strong communities throughout California,” according to its website. BizFed is an umbrella group representing about 180 chambers of commerce and organizations in L.A. County. Harbour has been vice president of business development for BizFed since last year. Prior to joining the group in 2017, he had worked for UCLA as a marketing/communications consultant, and then with the UCLA Alumni Association as the director of corporate strategic relationships and business development. He also held positions with Xerox Corp., Verizon Communications Inc. and Black Box Corp.
