Westfield’s Valley Winter Fest to Promote Small Business This Year

Westfield Topanga will partner with local realtor and the social media influencer behind 818 Insider, Nestor Aguilar, to host the Valley Winter Fest with an event designed to promote small businesses.

The festival, scheduled for Dec. 4- 5 at the Woodland Hills shopping center, will feature more than 80 Valley businesses including restaurants, brewers and artists for two evenings of live entertainment to support businesses that sustained difficult losses during the pandemic. Tickets are $5, or $10 with a sledding pass for kids to enjoy a snow day on Sunday.

The Valley Winter Fest is expected to attract more than 10,000 people and will partner with the California Highway Patrol to support its annual ‘CHiPS for Kids’ toy drive.

“The Valley and it’s people inspire me,” Aguilar said in a statement. “I feel honored and grateful that Westfield would believe in my vision to bring the Valley together and give the small business community an opportunity to elevate one another. There’s power in our numbers and our number is 818.”

Aguilar created the 818 Insider as a social platform and website to highlight the communities, hot spots, landmarks and small businesses of the San Fernando Valley. With his experience as a realtor learning the region, his work developing a virtual community has led to hosting in-person events and building an online shop featuring Valley merchandise.
