Universal Studios Theme Park to Require Vaccine or Test

Universal Studios Hollywood will begin on Oct. 7 asking for proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for all guests ages 12 and up.

The update in operational safety guidelines at the Universal City theme park comes in conjunction with a public health order from Los Angeles County requiring patrons and employees of bars, breweries, distilleries, wineries, nightclubs and lounges and those attending large outdoor mega-events be fully vaccinated by Nov. 4.

Regardless of vaccination status, Universal Studios Hollywood still requires face coverings on its property, both indoors and outdoors.

According to the Universal website, acceptable forms of proof of vaccination are a vaccination card, or photo/digital photo of the card, a digital vaccination record from the California Department of Public Health or an approved company, or documentation of vaccination from a health care provider. Acceptable forms of proof of negative test are a printed document, email or text message displayed on a phone from a test provider or laboratory. A PCR or antigen test is acceptable. A COVID-19 self-test, sometimes referred to as “home test,” is not acceptable.

Visitors under 12 who are not eligible for the vaccine can enter without proof of a negative test result.
