Kaiser Permanente Panorama City and Woodland Hills medical centers have been designated as high performing in maternity care (uncomplicated pregnancy) by U.S. News & World Report.
U.S. News evaluates hospitals childbirth services by rates of C-sections, newborn complications, breast milk feeding and early elective delivery as well as whether a hospital offers vaginal birth after cesarean.
The high-performing designation was given to one-third of the hospitals evaluated by U.S. News. The designation is the highest rating U.S. News awards for that form of care.
“During these challenging times, parents want to know that the hospital they have selected for their maternity care demonstrates a high level of quality standards,” Dr. Stephen De Vita, Kaiser Panorama’s area medical director and chief of staff, said in a statement.
The evaluation for maternity care involved hospitals voluntarily responding to a survey from the U.S. News health analysis team this spring, which reflects data from 2019.
