Special Report: Asian Entrepreneurs Month

The Business Journal this month is publishing small profiles of local Asian-American business owners, such as Stephen Yeoh, above, who started an information technology company in Thousand Oaks. We’re calling it Asian Entrepreneurs Month, and it coincides with the Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month in May. I think you’ll find the stories on the following pages fascinating. Like entrepreneurs anywhere, they generally say the rewards of being your own boss are great, but the challenges can be daunting. Yeoh warned that it can be tempting to quit. “Have a strong support system around you,” he advises, because “there will be difficult days.” Please do me a favor: Let me know of other Asian-American owned businesses in the Valley area. We want to make sure we cover more in the future.- Charles Crumpley  Editor and Publisher
