Nancy Hoffman Vanyek Appointed to L.A. City Business Services Committee

Nancy Hoffman Vanyek, chief executive of the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerice, has been appointed to chair the Business Services, Marketing and Resource Development Committee for the city of Los Angeles’ Workforce Development Board, the chamber announced Thursday.

Board members are appointed by the mayor. The Workforce Development Board oversees the expenditure of more than $50 million in public funds annually through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, with the aim of building the local economy and improving quality of life within the community.

The Business Services, Marketing and Resource Development Committee develops, implements and monitors the Workforce Development Board’s branding, marketing and outreach strategies.

 

“Serving on the Workforce Development Board is an honor,” Hoffman Vanyek said in a statement. “The chamber’s mission and efforts align perfectly with the work of the WDB. Along with my esteemed colleagues, I look forward to developing outreach efforts to strengthen the talented workforce here in Los Angeles.”

Hoffman Vanyek has served as chief executive of the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber since 1993. She also serves on the board of the WACE Foundation and the advisory board of the Van Nuys Airport.
