Magic Mountain to Build Wonder Woman Roller Coaster

Six Flags Magic Mountain announced this week plans to build its 20th roller coaster called Wonder Woman Flight of Courage.

With the opening of the Wonder Woman coaster next summer, the Valencia theme park will have the most roller coasters of any park in the world, according to a release from Six Flags Entertainment Corp.

Flight of Courage will be the tallest and longest single-rail roller coaster in the world. Riders will fly single file through the sky over 3,300 feet of track, towering 13 stories and soaring at speeds up to 58 miles per hour, according to the park’s release.

The coaster will highlight the legacy of Wonder Woman by having guests enter the ride queue through an area influenced by Greek architecture and featuring tropical landscaping. They will be immersed in Wonder Woman’s life and how she obtained her powers, the park’s release said.

Wonder Woman Flight of Courage will be located in the park’s 6-acre DC Universe area, which also includes the coaster Batman the Ride and several other DC-branded attractions. DC Universe will be expanded and entirely remodeled to include a new restaurant and bar experience, plus retail locations for DC-branded merchandise, the Six Flags release said.

DC is a unit of Warner Bros. Entertainment in Burbank.
