Ghost VFX, a visual effects house with a location in Burbank, announced this month that Patrick Davenport has been appointed as president as part of a strategic expansion.
Davenport replaces Tom Kendall, who has taken on the new role of head of business development, sales and marketing.
Rounding out the expansion of the Ghost leadership team is Paul Richards joining as executive vice president of technology and Crys Forsyth-Smith named as executive vice president of global production.
He was “super thrilled” to have the opportunity to lead the team at Ghost, Davenport said.
At a time of change and challenges within the VFX industry, the team is looking to build to upon great creativity and using it as a solid foundation to expand globally, Davenport said.
“We see many opportunities for innovation and doing things differently, which we believe will allow for continued success and a sustainable business,” he added in a statement.
Davenport most recently served as chief operating officer at Method Studios, a Santa Monica visual effects studio that is a division of Company 3, also in Santa Monica. Prior to that he served as chief operating officer of the advertising division of Motion Picture Co., a London-based post-production house with offices in Los Angeles.
Kendall will focus on building alliances with people and companies creating episodic stories, Ghost said in a release.
Richards brings 20 years of technical and business experience in visual effects. He most recently was chief technology officer of visual effects at Method Studios, where he was responsible for the company’s brands serving films, broadcast TV, streaming platforms, advertising and video games.
Forsyth-Smith also joins Ghost from Method Studios where she served as vice president of digital production operations. Her background in visual effects includes more than 20 years of collaborating with filmmakers and other clients to achieve their vision.
Ghost VFX is a division of Streamland Media in Burbank. It also owns Picture Shop, The Farm, Formosa Group and Picture Head.
