The Hollywood Professional Association has opened its call to entries for its 14th annual awards show. The Burbank organization will accept entries through July 12 in the categories of editing, color grading, sound and visual effects for film, television and commercial work released between Sept. 5, 2018 through Sept. 3 of this year. Seth Hallen, president of the association, said that as the entertainment industry evolves one constant is the group’s passion for honoring the talent behind the talent. “The HPA Awards represent so much of what the HPA itself is about, which is giving well-deserved recognition to the artistry, ingenuity and flat-out brilliance of the community of creative people who help realize filmmakers’ creative visions,” Hallen said in a statement. In addition to the four creative categories the association also gives an Engineering Excellence Award, a Judges Award for Creativity and Innovation and the HPA Lifetime Achievement Award. The HPA Awards take place Nov. 21 at the Skirball Cultural Center in the Sepulveda Pass.
