Waldman Chosen To Lead VICA

Stuart Waldman, who served as chief of staff for two members of the California Assembly, has been named as the new president of the Valley Industry & Commerce Association. After hearing that Brendan Huffman was leaving the post after just two years, Waldman asked to be considered to fill the position. “It’s just a fantastic organization with a great reputation,” Waldman, 39, said. “To be in a position to affect change and add jobs is a great thing to do.” For 11 years, Waldman, a graduate of Loyola Law School and California State University, Northridge, represented the Valley on the staffs of Assemblymembers Bob Hertzberg and Lloyd Levine. First moving to the Valley in 1978, he lived in the area off and on until permanently settling in Van Nuys in 1989, after completing his service in the U.S. Army. Waldman ran unsuccessfully in the June Democratic primary to fill Levine’s seat in the Assembly.
