Van Nuys Airport EIR Hearing Tuesday

A public meeting to review the draft Environmental Impact Report for the Van Nuys Airport Noisier Aircraft Phaseout project will take place Oct. 7, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Los Angeles World Airports, which operates Van Nuys, has proposed the establishment of a maximum noise level for all aircraft going in and out of the airport by way of an ordinance that would phase out aircraft generating noise levels of 77 dBA or greater on departure. The workshop-format meeting is open to all interested parties and will take place in the Van Nuys FlyAway building’s upstairs conference room at 7610 Woodley Avenue. The focus of this meeting is on the proposed phaseout, and is not going to address the Part 161 project which involves studying other noise reduction measures.
