Discount ticket seller Tix Corp. is eyeing the launch of an online service that will extends its network across the country. The Studio City-based company added a fifth booth in Las Vegas for its ticketing service Tix4Tonight, and is in negotiations for additional locations in that city. “In contrast to other segments of the Las Vegas economy that are being adversely affected by slower consumer spending, our Las Vegas discount ticketing and dinner business is performing very well as more and more visitors seek value,” said CEO Mitch Francis. For July and August, the company exceeded gross ticket sales of $9.5 million. Commissions and fees from those sales contributed $2.2 million in operating income. Tix4Tonight sells discounted tickets for shows, attractions and dinner reservations. The service booked 23,000 dinner reservations each month in July and August 2008.
