Sylmar contractor Tutor-Saliba Corp. is suing Los Angeles World Airports over contested back payments from the construction of the expanded Van Nuys FlyAway Center. The company is seeking $9.86 million from the city alleging it was never paid for some of the work completed on the park-and-ride expansion. The $33.8 million facility opened in late 2004, several months behind schedule and after airport executives threatened to take Tutor-Saliba off the project because it did not fix construction problems.
