Stimulus money not likely for field lab demo

The federal Department of Energy will likely scrap plans to use stimulus money to demolish buildings at its former nuclear test site at the polluted Santa Susana Field Laboratory after the idea received a cool reception from the community, officials said. Instead, the $15.4 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act would be redirected to another DOE project site in California, said Thomas Johnson, the department’s field lab project director.
