Architecture John Parezo has been promoted to principal at Ware & Malcomb Architects Inc. He is responsible for managing and expanding the Woodland Hills regional office. Parezo has been regional director for the Woodland Hills office for the past three years. Banking & Finance Charlie Lombardo has joined Lyon Credit Corp. as an account officer. Based in Burbank, he will be responsible for the Los Angeles/Ventura counties region, Arizona and selected Western states. Lombardo is also commissioner and secretary of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority. Entertainment Don Anderson has been named director of manufacturing at Iwerks Entertainment Inc., based in Burbank. He will oversee the manufacturing operations on all Iwerks projects. Previously, he served as director of production and engineering for Roboshop. Also, Claire O’Reilly has been named director of film distribution for the company. She will oversee the worldwide distribution of large-format, simulation and attraction films. O’Reilly was previously with PolyGram as manager of international licensing and administration. Terry Curtin was named executive vice president of publicity for Universal Pictures. She will be responsible for overseeing the strategy and execution of all domestic publicity campaigns for Universal Pictures releases. Curtin has been senior vice president of publicity for Buena Vista Pictures marketing since 1996. Tom Shadyac has entered into a long-term agreement with Universal Studios that includes directing and producing motion pictures as well as producing music. Previously, he directed “The Nutty Professor,” “Liar, Liar” and “Patch Adams.” Health Care Michael Kanter has been named assistant to the associate area medical director for the Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center. In addition to his new administrative role, Kanter will continue to practice general surgical pathology. Shirley Suda was also named assistant to the associate area medical director for the center. Suda will continue to practice general surgery. Joseph Zouzounis has been named chief sales officer at Woodland Hills-based Health Net. He will be responsible for leading large group, and labor and trust sales statewide. Zouzounis was most recently vice president of sales and chief marketing officer at Unicare Life and Health Insurance. Publishing Robert L. Washburn has been appointed senior vice president and group publishing director of Weider Publications Inc.’s Muscle & Fitness, Natural Health and Flex magazines. He is responsible for the company’s advertising sales efforts in its Woodland Hills office. Most recently, Washburn was vice president and sales director for the magazines. Restaurants Bob Partridge has been named chief financial officer of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf LLC, headquartered in Camarillo. His responsibilities include all accounting, and financial reporting, human resources and payroll, management of information systems, purchasing and administration. Partridge was previously a partner at Ernst & Young LLP’s mergers and acquisitions group. Telecommunications Mario A. Uribe has been named vice president of worldwide sales at Act Networks Inc., located in Camarillo. He will oversee sales engineers, field engineers and customer support staff. Uribe was most recently a vice president of sales and a general manager for Newbridge Networks.
