NBC Universal will sell a Spanish language television station in Burbank to help fund its purchase of Oxygen Media, a cable TV network with programming geared toward women. The deal by NBC to purchase the network co-founded by talk show host Oprah Winfrey is worth an estimated $875 million, according to media reports. The Associated Press reported the transaction will be funded through the sale of noncore assets, including two independent Telemundo television stations, KWHY in Burbank and WKAQ in Puerto Rico. Oxygen will be folded into NBC Universal’s entertainment cable division, which includes USA Network, Bravo and MSNBC, the AP said.
